Reading stuff onstage is lame

Comics shouldn't read stuff onstage unless it's really funny. 90% of the time it's a sign to the audience that they can go to sleep now.

How often do you see people on TV reading from a piece of paper? That's because no one wants to see it.

You also don't see paris hilton's tits on TV. Ricky Gervais makes reading funny.

I haven't seen Ricky Gervais read on TV. Maybe ya mean his standup though? BBC Office was brilliant for sure but I haven't been blown away by the Gervais' standup clips that I've seen. If there's a great one (with reading or not), link it up.

Yeah, I don't think that clip is that great. Fine and all but nothing compared to how good The Office is.

I think TV guys don't always translate to standup that well. It's a long, hard path to be good at standup. Just cuz you're good at one medium doesn't mean you can do another. Still, I'm sure his fans love the chance to see him in person.
